Set Up Notes (Windows):

If you want something that's already configured, download our pre-configured Winamp installation here.

If you want to set it up yourself: - download Winamp, and download the Winamp DSP Plugin.

- then go to Winamp's Preferences (control-P) then the DSP effect, and highlight the Shoutcast plugin and choose "configure". Here’s screenshots of my settings (the password is sc2rv). You need to change the IP address in the first screenshot to 157.131.200.164 :

In the below screenshot, you should change the "encoder settings" so the stream is stereo, not mono.

That last screenshot assumes you’re broadcasting whatever comes to your soundcard’s Line In jack. If you’re simply broadcasting whatever Winamp is playing, use the other option in that pulldown menu.

Remember to start broadcasting a bit before your show starts to make sure you can connect.

When you’re ready to connect, go to remote.radiovalencia.fm and enter your username/password and click “start broadcasting” when you’re ready.

Also remember to disconnect when your show is finished, since other people won’t be able to do remote broadcasts until you disconnect.

Set Up Notes (Mac):

Here’s the instructions from Dennis the Menace. Untested by me.

  1. Get Nicecast . You need to pay for the “real” thing.
  2. Put in the coordinates on the attached screen capture (note: see above screenshots for these), and the password (sc2rv).  You need program it for the RADIO VALENCIA server specs, not the “Built In” Server. (note: you might want to use 157.131.200.164 instead of the IP address)
  3. Make sure you have your mixer/computer output tested and ready to rock. The levels are an experiment in terror the first time.
  4. About 10 minutes before show time, turn on your broadcast
  5. When you want to start broadcasting, go to remote.radiovalencia.fm and click “start broadcasting”

Couple of screenshots he sent. Remember you might want to change the “Address” to 157.131.200.164 :

Running your remote broadcast:

Once you've gotten set up, use the remote broadcast interface.
